Georgetown County Schools Offer a program for four-year-old children at each public elementary school. A child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2021 to register for the pre-kindergarten program. Registering a child does not guarantee acceptance into the program as children must be tested to determine if they are eligible.
All children five years old on or before September 1, 2021 are required to register and attend kindergarten unless parents sign a waiver accepting responsibility for their child not being in public school. This waiver is available at the school. Full-day kindergarten is available at all public elementary schools in Georgetown County.
Parents should bring their child's legal birth certificate and current South Carolina Certificate of Immunization (short record) when registering their child. Proof of residency and/or legal guardianship will also be required.
